Joy’s Bio

My DIY journey began as a little girl, watching my big brother help my dad build and fix things around our house.  Those early experiences gave me a love for remodeling and decorating and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share that passion with all of you!


Growing up near Atlanta, I have been influenced by gracious traditional southern style and the excitement of modern innovation.  My husband and I renovated our first home in Savannah, Georgia while we started our family.  After several years there and in Athens, Georgia, we are back in my hometown and have settled into our “forever home” – a 1960′s ranch with lots of weekend projects!  I couldn’t be more thrilled at this third opportunity to remodel a home together.  It is something that we truly enjoy.

Some Random Facts About Me:

• I’m an excellent self-taught chef and I love to cook.
• I was the baby of the family and my oldest sibling was 19 when I was born.
• My family still owns the house my great-grandfather built with his own hands.
• I used to be a tom-boy until I discovered makeup.
• I own two dogs and two cats and I want to raise my own chickens.
• I’m a city girl who wants to own a house in the country too.
